A PATTERN 1897 GRV INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, circa 1917, with steel 32 3/4 in. blade fullered and etched on both sides, ricasso etched with 'HAWKSWORTH / SHEFFIELD' on side and war-economy proved mark over, pierced guard with GRV cypher, leather grip bound by black wire, together with its brown leather field scabbard, bladed heavily trusted and stained, hilt worn, scabbard worn and missing straps, 40 in. overall
